The Bison 1879 trekking axe with a head weight of 500 g is used on all outdoor tours, hunting and trekking. Thanks to its particularly handy dimensions, it fits into almost any backpack, and a sharply ground edge makes work easier. The head of the hatchet is hand-forged according to old tradition and, together with the double wedged 25 cm long handle made of varnished hickory wood, forms a powerful unit. The handle has a convex end so that it is also possible to strike firmly when splitting kindling.
